Eric's House Again

March 29th-30th, 2002

Gassing up the Car

Alaska... I wasn’t taking the slow, stomach churning way thru the National Forest again and I didn’t mind the extra hour or so on the road.  So after few hours and several stops for every reason either we or the kids could think of, we made it to Eric’s.

We drug ourselves out of bed about 10 or so this morning and decided to head back home.  No rush... just ready to go.  So we loaded up the van and after a stop for gas and breakfast stuff we headed north (not the south way this time) toward St. Louis. Mary bitched about it being the long way to her brother’s house, but I told her I didn’t care if we had to go by way of

Sherry and hubby had come to visit with Brent and Sandy. Mary had been concerned that we hadn’t gotten any pics of them in TN and now was a chance.  Unfortunatly, Brent was in the Gameboy Advance that I had bought Dusty and couldn’t look up for a picture, but Sandy (who’s gettin all growed up by the way) gave us a little pose.

We spent out night there.  They had brought a bunch of videos that I hadn’t seen and while Mary visited, the kids played and I watched videos. Although I could hardly hear them above the noise of the defective fish tank motor; I finally pulled the plug on the fish and all was good. Don’t worry, I asked first and they said the fish were good for a few hours without the deafening BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Note:  If they haven’t changed the motor by Christmas, send them a new one as a present.

Oddly enough the sound didn’t seem to bother the kids. Eric has 2, one hyper boy and one really cute little girl. The boy runs around bouncing off the walls and seems frustrated with the slow pace of everyone else.  He’ll probably grow up to be a production manager or something. The girl is a quiet little sweety, cute as a button with long curly hair.  She just smiled and laughed and wasn’t a bit of trouble.  That’s the kind of little girl I want, someday.

The next morning we slept in a bit (not to late) and then with hugs and tears we left for Easter with my family.
