There are several big events associated with going to the first grade. Among them are giving the Japanese school bag and getting the first grade desk.  Today we went to the local furniture store and bought Dusty his first desk.

Shopping for Desks

After church this morning we all piled in the car and drove to the local furniture store. They had several student desk but the one that caught my eye was the 29,000 model that you see pictured above. I decided right away that this is the one that he should have. But Mary wanted to drive around go shopping and see the other desks. After shopping and fighting traffic for three hours we went back and bought the one I initially chose. With the optional roller chair and the character desktop mat it all came to about 40,000.  A good price for a good strong desk that will last him many years.
