Branson Day 3

March 28th, 2002

Measuring Up

We had a blast today.  After our morning breakfast of donuts and other junk foods, we were having a sugar rush and wanted to do something fun and exciting.  So we went go-cart racing.  There are several tracks to choose from here in Branson, but we found a 3-story track called ‘The Lumber Jack’ that looked fun and a little dangerous... so of course that’s the one we chose. Dusty was too short to make the cut so I showed him how to stand on his toes without being too obvious and he squeaked in. First, Dusty drove by himself... but I was feeling left out, so got us a double car.  It was powerful enough to spin the tires a little and we could fishtail around the corners.

Mary wanted to try it too, so I took the baby while she and Kyler went zooming around the track.

After the sugar rush wore off we decided to do some of our shopping.  We needed souveners for family and friends.  Also, my mom’s birthday was coming up and I had nothing to give her. (She never asked for anything... so what should I get?  Hmmmmm.)
We hit the Outlet Malls, the department stores, game shops, etc. Didn’t find much for other people but we found lots of stuff for us.  Mary got some clothes, I got some board games for the school and Dusty bought a Gameboy.  (This was with the promise to share it with his brothers and me.) We were really into shopping mode when I noticed the time... Shoot! The whole day was gone.  We ate a late Dinner at Denney’s.

With full bellies we decided to go swimming back at the hotel. It was my turn to watch the baby, so Mary took the boys swimming.  I was a little put off but it’s my fatherly job.  As it turned out I was lucky I didn’t go; the pool was full of overfed psycho kids and their families.  They jumped and splashed so much that it actually frightened my kids into leaving the pool area. (And if you know my kids... that’s saying alot.)

Afterwards we got snacks and watched TV till aroung 2AM cause we are still on Japan-Time.
